Welcome! The High Forest Institute is a not-for profit educational entity.

About us: Located on the physical campus of Gray Bear retreat center since 1998: we are an inclusive not-for-profit 501(c)(3) independent organization which strives to positively affect the well-being of people in living a more fulfilling life through experiential retreats/seminars focused on holistic learning anchored in a natural, wilderness setting.

In short: We care for the people who help to make this a better world in which to live.

Simplicity and mindful ways are key to our mission. We have been mindfully hosting events, groups, dedicated to fulfilling our mission since 1997.

We are a person to person, word of mouth direct referral organization.

We intentionally keep a low digital footprint. We rely on, and believe in, the oldest form of social media: direct person to person connection. We have seen the benefits of this gentle impact network.
