Traditional Thai-Yoga Bodywork with Michael Buck
This retreat offers the opportunity to take five days and fully immerse ourselves in the ancient healing art form known today as Thai Yoga-Massage.
We’ll learn to use beautifully choreographed Thai body work sequences (also known as assisted Yoga), rhythmic compressions, exotic stretching, ancient breathing arts, acupressure and mediation to produce profound states of rest and rejuvenation. And of course while we’re practicing giving (and receiving!) this bodywork, we’ll be resting in the beautiful surroundings of Gray Bear with ample time for daily yoga, quiet walks and soaking in our sauna. Thai massage has been a part of the culture at Gray Bear for many years. Relaxing on one of our decks or scheduling a session in our dedicated Thai Dome; you’ll find yourself at home and at peace. We so do hope you can join us.
This course teaches Vedic Thai Massage, a longer 2-hour sequence of Thai-Yoga Bodywork Techniques. You’ll watch demonstrations and take notes in your manual, then practice giving and receiving with various partners in the class.
You will learn:
- How to apply the 2-hour sequence of Thai-Yoga Bodywork asanas and techniques, including transitions.
- How to use breath, meditation, mantra, bandha, and Yogic techniques to enhance the quality of the session.
- To comprehend the theories of releasing the energy on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level.
