Gateless Writing Retreat with Suzanne Kingsbury
A first for Gray Bear
Join us this fall as we welcome internationally acclaimed author and book shaman Suzanne Kingsbury for a mind-blowing weekend of writing that will knock your creative socks off.
If you have heard the whisper of the open page, if you believe your urge to write might be a dancing order from the divine, if you want to learn to “channel” your writing from your highest artistic self, this weekend is for you.
Gateless Writing will draw out your innate genius so you can lean into your unique talent on the page, even if you have never published and did not know you had creative power inside. This non-critical approach to feedback finds where you are strong and looks at where your power is so that you can break through to the limitless self. Spending a weekend with Gateless writing tends to shift you dramatically without you having to lift anything more than a pen. And we will be holding your hand, cheering you on, supporting you every step of the way. When you leave, you will know exactly where you shine.
We are so excited to dance on the page with you. And to do some crazy-beautiful nature walks, soak in the steamy sauna, get massaged by the babbling brook, eat fantastic food and cuddle up by the fire to hear your stories. Let us pamper you, on and off the page. This weekend will fill up soon so hurry while there are still spaces left. Can’t wait to write with you…
Suzanne Kingsbury is an award-winning, critically acclaimed author, whose books have been translated widely abroad and optioned for film. Suzanne has helped countless writers on their path to signing with top agents, hitting bestseller lists and wining prestigious literary awards. Her secret sauce is her intuitive "channeling" which divines, through a process of sacred writing, what the writer needs and the highest vision of where the writer can go.
Suzanne has trained in psychic mediumship with Kristen Carmichael and Shamanic journeying with the Michael Harmon's School of Shamanic Studies. She is also trained in Fresh Yoga, Thai Head Massage and Reiki, which is included for participants of every retreat.
Suzanne is the recipient of a Fulbright Award, an Oxford Town Fiction Award and has been shortlisted for the Robert Olen Butler Award for Short Fiction, the Fog City Writer’s Award and a Dana Award. Her work has been praised by internationally acclaimed authors including Robert Olmstead, Jim Harrison, Jill McCorkle, William Gay and others. Buzz Feed named her first novel a number one best summer read, Publishers Weekly has called her work fast paced and gripping, lush and evocative, The Independent called it Impressive, and Culture Fly has named her one of the most talented writer of our age.
In her previous life, Suzanne worked at the School for International Training with language and cultural immersion programs in Africa and Asia. She is a certified Laban Technique dance teacher (K-12) and has choreographed for the Bread and Puppet Theater and worked in Jacques D’Ambois' National Dance Institute in Soho.
