“Listening with Heart”

3 Night Intensive for teachers and advanced practitioners 3/25 - 3/27
5 Night Presence in Yoga 3/27 - 4/1
8 Night Presence in Yoga 3/25 - 4/1

Participants are encouraged to attend the entire 8 night retreat if possible to be able to savor in the Intensive coming back into community as teachers and advanced practitioners, delight in chatter, analysis of this time in yoga, along with adjustments and partner work. After the Intensive, the chatter fades, and we drop into a welcome quiet in Presence in Yoga with occasional periods of silence when nature and our beings can be truly listened to with heart.

For the last few years, we have all attempted to maintain some kind of clarity and equanimity as the voices of conflict, covid, climate issues have often been extremely loud. It’s been tiring! As we move out of winter, into a new spring in the world, can we bring a freshness to the way that we listen inwardly to our breath, our sense of caring, our way of moving in asana and beyond? Can we reconnect to our dedication to the practice and the well-being of all?

March 25 Friday 4pm – March 27 Sunday 11am

Advanced Practice Intensive – Teachers’ Talk and Play! This workshop is designed to re-energize one’s own personal practice and cultivate joy and delight in this ancient path (13+ hours). Our themes will include sound, jaws and groins! We will also consider some of the key teaching issues that have arisen in recent times, analyze poses and sequences in a supportive learning environment, (5+ hours). Suitable for teachers of any level of experience and also those who are not teachers but are willing to use teaching as a metaphor for deepening practice and have a home practice.

March 27 Sunday 5.30pm – April 1 Friday, 10am.

Presence in Yoga – A 5 day Retreat, held partly in silence to allow participants to let go of the outer conversations and busyness and drop into a quieter rhythm, with an emphasis on simple vipassana meditation – seated and walking, calm balanced asana – active and passive, and plenty of time to be in nature, listening to the sounds of spring emerging in the hot tub, the sauna, the massage table, by the waterfall or just lying in the hammock, absorbing the nourishment of minimally agenda-ed time at Gray Bear. Suitable for all – options given to those not practicing more advanced poses. This retreat begins with dinner on Sunday, at 5.30pm. (25 hours mat/zafu time)

COVID policy for our gathering: Participants need to be double vaxxed, and be willing to get a PCR test close to the time of the retreat as well as avoid indoor or large gatherings 3 days prior to the retreat. We may ask folks to get a rapid test prior to arrival or on arrival depending on the Covid situation at that time. Thank you.
