"The Joy of Being Present"
A Breema Weekend Retreat with Katherine Correa
We would like to invite you to give yourself (and/or a loved one) the gift of a Breema retreat at Gray Bear! Enjoy the tranquility of Gray Bear combined with the greater sense of well-being and vitality that come with practicing Breema.
The aim of Breema bodywork is to create harmony and balance between our mind, feelings and body, and in all our relationships. Breema teaches us, by experience, that we best support others by being present in the moment. When we are present, we have a chance to be open to others because there is actually "someone home". What a difference that makes. Joy, connection, gratitude are fostered.
In this retreat, we practice Breema's Nine Principles of Harmony, Body-centered meditation, Breema bodywork and Self-Breema exercises. Mind, body and feelings become more harmonized inviting a higher level of consciousness to participate in our daily activities.
Breema's joyful atmosphere of non judgment supports us as we work fully clothed on a padded floor to learn and practice sequences of tension-relieving stretches, nurturing touch, stillness, and rhythmic movement. These natural movements are profoundly relaxing and energizing for both the giver and the receiver.
Katherine Correa is a Licenced Massage therapist in the state of TN, Certified Breema Practitioner, Certified Feldenkrias Practitioner®, and has maintained a bodywork practice since graduating from the San Francisco School of Massage in 1986. She earned certification to practice Breema® Bodywork in 1989, Feldenkrais® in 1994, and to teach Breema in 1991.
Katherine was a faculty instructor at Nashville's Natural health Institute for 8 years and has been teaching Breema to massage therapists, and the public since 1994. The most active Breema instructor in the South, she has also taught throughout the region, at the Breema Center, and in Germany. Her classes are playful and fun, as well as effective in demonstrating and teaching the practice and principles of her work. Katherine continues her studies of Breema, Feldenkrais and somatic education. She has been teaching somatic education classes for several years.
Her backround includes extensive self study of the work of Byron Katie - a simple process for clarity and peace of mind.
Breema is appropriate for anyone interested in a practical way to deepen her/his relationship to life in the moment, while nurturing the body and quieting the mind. All are welcome. No experience necessary. Please consider that you will need to be comfortable working on well padded mats on the floor. Breema® is a service mark of The Breema Center.

Gray Bear is home to 400 acres of rolling hills, thick forest, natural springs, and even a waterfall. You can experience the wonders of nature while sitting in a hand-built wood fire sauna; hear the silence of nature's symphony lying on a hammock while curled under a blanket; and revel in clear air and water while using shower outdoors.
With all of this nature we have some suggestions to consider when packing:
